Discovery 2 Td5 Wastegate Modulator testing. As can been seen from the video the WGM is directing pressure to the capped port 3 when it's not receiving a PWM signal. When PWM is active the pressure in the capped waste gate actuator outlet is released via port 2.
The gauge problem is probably an earth. The Td5 thermostat opens about 82 and is fully open about 96, so 88-89 would probably be an average running temperature. 2 hours ago, Troll Hunter said:
Common problem, but worth checking. You will need a Nanocom or a Hawkeye from a friendly local to plug it in and see. Also check the wiring that runs around and over the top of the T box, that comes from the XYZ switch. It has a habit of chafing through on the metal P clip that holds it to the top of the box.
After 10 years with my old 2.5 td 110 I bought in 2003 a new td5 90. I am now at 80.000 km and no problems so far. But, checking the engine oil this time I noticed something strange: the level rises. I asked a few friends td5 owner and they told me this is due to fuel leakage in the engine oil.
Jun 25, 2011. #4. Best Check the servo unit first. This is the classic reason for having to use a lot of effort to depress the brake pedal. With the engine switched off - depress the footbrake several times to empty the vacuum. Keeping the pedal depressed start the engine.
Update to this saga. Booked Disco into local garage that does a lot of Land Rover work to have the clutch system bled through. Took them ALL week to finally get it resolved so it was either a pig of a job to do, or there's some small underlying issue that may well surface again in the future.
The only solution to this is to send your ECU away to someone like ALIVE to get it refurbished or source a replacement. To check you will need a fault reader like a Nanocom. To be honest this is the first place I would start having been through this whole problem with my TD5. 9.
There are also companies up and down the country advertising the removal of ACE system for between £300 and £500. Lastly ACE stands for Active Cornering Enhancement, it was introduced as 4x4s became more popular (CHELSEA TRACTORS) to provide a more saloon car type ride on a 4x4,it Enhances the ride.
Introduction. The Discovery 2 may not have quite broken the same ground as the Mars pathfinder it shares its name with, but it did offer 720 differences over its predecessor. Apart from the rear door panel, every body panel was new. While a revived interior and updated styling gave it less of a utilitarian feel.
